Hi alas,

Thanks for finding the photo and posting it here as it's a really cool one. Pensive and yet subtly sexy. Please don't decry me for the latter as i fell in love with MS music and Hope's voice before i ever saw what she looked like. As gorgeous as Hope might be it pales in comparison to the beauty of her songwriting and singing.

Found a Melody Maker cover online today from 1994-7-23 with a photo of JAMC with Hope, a pic I'd not encountered before.





A JAMC interview's featured for their album Stoned and Dethroned which has Jim Reid & Hope singing a duet on the single "Sometimes Always." The photos turned out pretty well by screen capturing the enlarged version of the photo shown at ebay.

It turns out one doesn't need to buy the hard copy to read the interview though. I wondered if Hope might speak in the interview as she did in a JAMC interview in Rolling Stone from 1994 (See Mazzy Star interviews thread here for the text of that interview). Hope doesn't speak at all in it, and here's the only passage that mentions her:

-The interviewer didn't like Hope's duet. Well, to each to his own opinion, I guess!
It's too bad I don't know how to paste photos directly into threads at this site because if there's one thing lacking here, it's photos, imo. The usual methods of pasting photos don't seem to work, but there must be a way to do it, as there's an example in one of the threads here where someone did paste a picture into their post.

I'm no Internet expert but I can suggest you to use the two following uploading methods. They seem to work fine on this forum.

If your picture is on your hard drive, upload it to a photo hosting site like you did using Photobucket, click on the uploaded picture and copy the IMG link/tag generated by the hosting site. On the Photobucket site, the generated IMG link/tag appears in the "Share Links" section on the right side of the page. Paste the IMG link/tag into your post. The forum will convert the IMG link/tag into your picture.

If the picture you want to insert is on a standard Web site that does not generate IMG tags, right-click on the picture on the site and select Copy Image URL in your browser's pop-up menu. Paste the image URL into your post and insert the [img]and[/img] tags at the beginning and at the end of your image URL.
For instance, if your image URL is http://www.mazzystar.com/hopesandoval.jpg, type:

Code: Select all

[img]http://www.mazzystar.com/hopesandoval.jpg[/img]

You can also use the IMG icon in the forum's window where you compose your post. It will insert the [img] tags for you.

I have added below the pictures that alas initially posted in the Interviews thread so that all pictures appear in this Photos thread. alas, I hope this is OK with you.

Makes such a difference to threads to have photos in them. Nice.

I'd done a tiny bit of research today, & came back to try out a method someone mentioned online re. photobucket for pasting photos in forums. They suggested pasting the HTML link found in photobucket's "share links." Then I found your info & the photos you embedded. You found photobucket's IMG links work here. Excellent. What ever works! It's a big improvement to the site to have photos now, where appropriate, imo. Yes!

Came across a publicity photo of Hope today, date unknown. Maybe it's been findable elsewhere but I don't recall seeing it before.The pic was found at an online article about collectible vinyl, here: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/inve ... world.html . The 2015 article says "current highly-desirable vinyl includes records by 80s new wave band TalkTalk and 90s US shoegaze band Mazzy Star."
