I'm looking around for Dirt Blue Gene's album Watergrasshill, but it's nowhere to be found, not on itunes or anywhere. Anyone know where to get it?

Ah, yes, the mystery album that Dirt Blue Gene (who double as comprising much of The Warm Inventions band) have, since early 2013, been promising is forthcoming. They posted to their youtube channel around March 2013 the recording of their song collaboration with Hope, "Not at All," they said would appear on the album.

They must never have gotten around yet to finishing the album, or at least releasing it yet. Otherwise, surely there'd be news about it posted on their FB site: https://www.facebook.com/pages/DIRT-BLU ... 0932969689
& their yt Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/dbgshows

Still waiting.

ya, they posted a couple other tracks from the album on youtube, and they're really good, but no info anywhere on the release of the album.

What are the aforementioned tracks that have been posted on Youtube? I would be interested in hearing them.

They posted two songs from their "upcoming" new album Watergrasshill on their YT page: "Not at all" (with Hope Sandoval on vocals and Colm Ó Cíosóig on the vibraphone) and "your Junk".
These songs are really good and could definitively be mistaken for two Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions tracks. Their sound is so similar.

You can also check out their Facebook page and their MySpace page, which includes the Mile Long Road track released on their "Hearts and Bones" EP in 2005.
According to the hopesandoval.com Web site, the Watergrasshill album was to be released in March 2013 but it never came out. They haven't updated their YT channel for a long time even though their YT activity history shows they still log into their YT page regularly. Based on their YT history, they even gave a "Like" to Hermesacat's Not At All video/slideshow last month, eh eh :P.

Nice of Dirt Blue Gene to "Like" my re-upload of their song with Hope so my upload appears on their yt page (I didn't know this till Emma mentioned it). Mine has received ten times as many views as the original has, so mine's been a good advertisement for them! After nearly 20K views, that upload's received all thumbs up votes, & zero thumbs down, unusual for a song with that many views. No one who listens to it dislikes it, apparently. It is a great song. Charles Cullen's guitar is excellent, Hope's never in better form, & Colm's vibraphone adds a lot. I didn't know it was Colm on vibes till Emma just mentioned it (I'd asssumed it was Hope) & I saw today on DBG's FB page musician credits for the song. So, I've changed the video description to give the correct credits.

Odd how two+ years later the promised new DBG album still hasn't appeared. What are DBG, The Warm Inventions, & Mazzy Star doing these days, I wonder, & can we expect any new releases &/or new tours from any of the above any time soon? For now, they all seem to have returned to the shadows, & default quiet, mystery mode. Nothing new about that!
