drugstore: Thanks for posting that photo. I saw it at the FB group too. I don't know who the guy on the left is, but that's the late Keith Mitchell on the right with eyes closed.

Here's a new publicity photo of Hope I like photographed by Ms. Luz Gallardo. A few different sites are using it in articles about the forthcoming 2017 e.p. and the new song "Sleep" from it, already out.
Beauty intact at 50+! Some of my fave photos ever of Hope are ones from recent years, usually ones photographed by Luz Gallardo. Plus, many recent-year pics suggest or reveal more character in Hope's face than pics from the 1990s, imo.

Maybe this pic is of Hope on one of her hikes she likes to do in the hills in the San Francisco area...Cue her "The Hiking Song" !
QUOTE: "Why do you do the things you do?
Don't you see? Your concern is all on the ground
Let's take a hike up in the hills
It's high up, but what a thrill"

On Sept. 14, 2017, HS&TWI's official FB page posted this new photo from the "cowboy hat" photo shoot(s)
https://www.facebook.com/pg/HopeSandova ... 3%7D%7D%5D together with a list of shows & venues for the upcoming October, 2017 tour, plus this text (written by Hope, is my guess), QUOTE:
"You guys coming? Put on the finest boots known to humanity... shoe boot, moody boot, cowboy boot, rocket boot, half boot and booty boots and we’ll see you soon!"
Image
There's more to the story. I wrote the following comment (under my FB name, Bob Bee) in the comments thread under the above post,QUOTE:
"How about my cats and I arrive to the gig padding along on our furry cat paws, instead? We cats don't need boots!"
It turns out not only does Hope read comments under her posts, but some lucky commenters' comments may even earn a "Like" rating from HS&TWI. I was one of the lucky ones to receive such a "Like". In fact, it was a "Loves" rating mine received from THE HS&TWI. That was pleasing enough, but I didn't realize how rare such a rating is there till scrolling through comments threads of two dozen+ different posts at that FB site, & checking each comment that had received reactions to see if Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions had reacted to anyone else's comments besides mine (the names of reactors show when you hover over the the reactions icons). But no other examples showed up. The only example I could find of HS&TWI "Liking" someone's comment was my own! My cats & I are feeling extra special today. Meowza wowza.

I think this photo was posted to Facebook during Mazzy Star's 2013 tour. I suppose it was taken at that time.

Very cool! 8-)

You may be right about the diner photo. Maybe alas knows more about the source of this colour version. I know that the diner photos were originally shot in '93 by Melodie MacDaniel for the RayGun music magazine and I think they were all published in black and white at that time.

This one is still viewable in B &W on Melodie MacDaniel's website, under the "Famous" section:

Site member drugstore posted several photos to the FB fan Group recently. I'm re-posting them here on her behalf.

The above Laura Levine pic is said to be from 1990

Image
The above pic is of Hope's JAMC duet "Sometimes Always" with Jim Reid. likely some gig from the late 1994 tour where Mazzy Star opened for JAMC. Hope would come on stage during JAMC's set to sing "Sometimes Always."
The duet pic is the only one of the three above I needed to resize (make smaller & lower the quality)to make it fit in this thread. You can view & DL a better quality version of the same photo here:

-Side note: SYLVIA GOMEZ, Hope's partner in her pre-Mazzy Star, pre-Opal duo Going Home just joined the FB fan Group yesterday! We suspect there are other friends of the band(s) at the FB Group but the others are low-key or incognito, undeclared and not obvious while they do "friendly spying" sometimes, tipping off band members to posts and links they see in the Group they think might be of interest to the band. There's good circumstantial evidence this occurs. Mazzy Star's drummer Keith Mitchell was previously the only obvious, declared band insider who was a member of the FB Group. Before he died in May, 2017, he posted and commented there a bunch of times. I'm guessing Sylvia probably won't be active the way Keith was in the Group. She may be a quiet member. https://www.facebook.com/groups/6071129794/

Nice screenshot Emma! There are four songs written by David and sung by Maggie Cheung from the Clean soundtrack but it seems only 3 can be found on youtube ( “Strawberry Stain" cannot be found on Youtube). And according to David they have recorded more materials after the movie but it never got a chance to be released. Though Maggie's live performance was ....hmmm...horrible, but I'd like to hear her work with David since those songs in the soundtrack are decent.

According to Hermescat: it's from the same photo shoot as these ones ID-ed as being by Neal Preston, Oct. 1, 1994, Bridge School Benefit (day 1 of 2)
