Do you think the photo of that woman is Hope's mother? The eyes have the same striking intensity to them.

There are a few different women appearing in it. Not sure which one you're thinking of, but my take is I don't see much facial similarity between any of them & Hope that might suggest kinship. In it, we can ID Hope, Colm, and the late Richie Lee (with the long curly hair) of the band Acetone who committed suicide in 2001. Mazzy Star and Hope have a bunch of connections to Acetone. A news release said the video was in part a tribute to Richie Lee.
Most of the other people shown in it are mysteries. The news release also reportedly described images in it as "memories lost and found," which sounds all very vague (who's memories? Of whom?)!

Hi all,

I'm pretty certain that Suki is there in glasses (not sunglasses) seated outside ~midway through the video. Nice song and the video good as well although moves a little fast for my old eyes and brain.

Cheers,
Mike

Yeah, that's Suki Ewers in glasses. When recalling from memory who I'd recognized in the video, I forgot to mention Suki. But she was easy to ID as I've used very similar pics of her in some of my yt slideshows. I find it interesting Suki's become more Asian-looking as she's aged. Her features look increasingly Asian. I'm assuming she must be half-Asian, and "Suki" sounds like possibly a Japanese name. It's not nearly as clear in some early photos that she has Asian background. Btw, I'll be posting to the boots list soon a CD-rip of Suki's out-of-print album," Kind of Hazy, " David Morgan shared from his CD.

A new official VIDEO of Hope's song collab; with Massive Attack, "The Spoils" has been released via youtube, Aug. 9, 2016, directed by John Hillcoat, and starring two-time Academy award winner Cate Blanchett. Hope is likely pleased about that.

Upped a "new" vintage Mazzy show to yt today here: https://youtu.be/hmvuW2YsGaw
Oslo, Norway, June 1, 2000. It's only the second show from 2000 I've heard, a tour unique because the band played so many unreleased songs. More info, set list, and download link for the audio file of the show in lossless FLAC is findable in the Bootlegs thread here at mazzystar.free.fr.

At Hope's official website, hopesandoval.com, in the "What's New" section,
there's a link to an interesting youtube playlist at Hope Sandoval and
The Warm Inventions' new official youtube Channel (the Channel seems to be
just a few weeks old). It's entitled "Hope and Colm's playlist (Here's some videos Hope and Colm were watching during the making of the album)"

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... gVWtKKorCY

Their yt Channel also has a another cool new playlist for Halloween with bands such
as The Cramps, Bauhaus, Alice Cooper, and Dr. John back when he was the voodoo
Night Tripper: "Colm's Halloween Playlist":

There's a new & interesting video upload at youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrLIcnl1LfI , a video for the song "In the Kingdom." Mazzy Star's FB page https://www.facebook.com/MazzyStarOffic ... ion=stream officially links to it calling it a "fan-made" video. But a commenter under the FB post says they've heard that Colm O'Ciosoig is actually the one who made the video. And there seems to be some other evidence suggesting Colm may be mystery videographer.

The yt uploader's name is shown as "Herman Kinski". Herman? Aha, there's a SPIN mag Mazzy interview from Sept. 17, 2013 with quotes from Hope & Colm. The two make some amusing comments re. a mysterious "Herman." But a SPIN reader who seems to be in the know posted a comment under the article that "Herman" is actually Hope's & Colm's cat, Herman, suggesting the Herman references are an inside joke! Sample SPIN interview HOPE QUOTE: "How did we find Herman? I think he found us." Cat humour. So, maybe Colm's using his cat's name as his youtube alter ego.

These are amusing cat coincidences for me as my own mazzystar.free.fr & youtube handle "Hermesacat" (which is also the handle I used for years in the Forum at fan site, Mazzy Star Boulevard), is homage to a fave cat of my own named "Hermes" (now deceased) who some referred to as "Herman".

More evidence Colm may be videographer/uploader: Of the three comments that showed under the video at the time I saw it, at least two of three were by Mazzy Star insiders who evidently got an early jump on getting to see the video. Youtuber "presley'spantry" is Hope's niece, Nicole Presley, who sang back up on some Hope recordings, & live on Hope's 2002 tour (nowadays, Nicole's a professional cook/chef as her yt channel attests to). Nicole's comment is: "Gorgeous.... I love that I got a small glimpse of Hope.... it seems like it's her dream." That tipped me off to watch for a Hope cameo. At around 3:20 a female face, seemingly laughing, can be seen in the distance briefly, partially hidden behind a long limbed naked figure advancing towards her. The face looks like Hope's face.

Youtuber "Lori Reyes" was one of Mazzy Star's official photographers on the band's 2013 tour. Luz Gallardo was another. Lori's comment is: "lovely hermes kinski". You tube says her comment was posted four days ago although the FB link was posted just two days ago, suggesting she was likely tipped off early the video was up. The video was upped 5 days ago. "Fan-made" video? Yeah, right. Okay, 'fess up Colm, you made the video, didn't you? I'd say he did a good job. I like it more each time I view it. I agree with Nicole its imagery's very dream-like.

Nice guess! And I just realized that Herman Kinski is also credited for the Filming and Puppetry of the official video of "I'm less here".

So, another video credit for the mysterious Herman Kinski.I hadn't noticed the "I'm Less Here" one, Thanks for the info., drugstore.

I'll add a link here to a yt video upload:
https://youtu.be/PkbPEY8LgDo

It's the rare live performance Mazzy Star video that drugstore kindly shared a download lnk for in the Bootlegs thread recently. It's one I hadn't seen before and has never been on yt before, so far as I know. It's Mazzy Star performing "Ride It On" on Musique Plus Canadian TV channel, 1994-10-28.
I'll paste drugstore's post with his Download link from that thread here, QUOTE:

"Hi there ,
Many thanks for sharing all these recordings and informations. And I'm also interested in those unrevealed 1990s mazzy star videos. I have a video of a TV performance of "ride it on" which I downloaded years ago through a Chinese video site and I cannot find it anywhere now. It definitely comes from the same 1994 TV show in Montreal from which we can find two interview videos on Youtube. However, the quality is bad since I failed to contact the person who uploaded it so I just downloaded it directly from the video sites.I'd be very appreciative if someone here have a better version of this and willing to share. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_5v7p ... lqQ3M/view "

ANTIQUITY, the elusive bonus 4th song from Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions Son Of A Lady, the one that comes only with the 10" vinyl purchase, is at youtube now, here:
https://youtu.be/bfxpP3iY8BQ
The sound's a departure for HS&TWI's . I call it "HS&TWI's meets My Bloody Valentine" (Colm's other band)!
