Dead Link, there is actually an active torrent of this show on dime. Regarding the date 1983-10-12 or 1983-12-10 take a look in your post in the FB group: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=3017515588528882

According to the FB (Twitter post by Pat Thomas https://twitter.com/PatThomas1964/statu ... 6667009026) and other actual infos I think Dec 10, 1983 is the right date for this show. Interestingly your FB post https://www.facebook.com/groups/6071129 ... 517699795/ indicates that 2 days later David Roback and Kendra Smith did a Clay Allison show (also in New York): 1983-12-12 - Clay Allison - Pyramid, New York, NY. Did David Roback really played in two bands at this time? When was the last gig David played in Rain Parade?

https://www.atlantamusicguide.com/qa-wi ... -the-head/

"In order to have Rain Parade, you gotta have me and Steven. That’s been the lineup since late 1983 when David left after one tour and one album [and eventullay formed Opal and then Mazzy Star]. John [Thoman] came in the fall of 1984. After we had completed the Explosions in the Glass Palace EP and had begun touring as a four piece"

According to the above interview the Dec. 1983 Rain Parade dates seem to be the last shows with David Roback and maybe Dec. 10, 1983 CBGB's the last one, regarding that David & Kendra did a (the first?) gig as Clay Allison only two days later.

The description to a dead link on dime supports that Rain Parade didn't play with David Roback no more in Febr. 1984:

"Rain Parade 1984-02-13 San Francisco,CA_ I-Beam (VG+ stereo 54min AUD Mk2 NOEQorNR version. Earliest 4-man gig around?Complete"Explosions In The Glass Palace"live. NEW to DIME!) DimeTravel"

"Rain Parade 1984-02-13 San Francisco,CA_ I-Beam (VG++ stereo 54min AUD Mk3 lite NR+NO EQ version. Earliest 4-man gig around? Full"Explosions In The Glass Palace"live. NEW to DIME!) DimeTravel"

A download link for the following show is not mentioned here yet:

1983-12-07 - Rain Parade - Gerde's Folk City, New York, NY (with David Roback)

A flac version can be downloaded from
https://dbs-repercussion.blogspot.com/2 ... -1983.html

"show, which seems to pre-date the CBGB performance on the vinyl boot "Welcome To Paisleyland" by three days." -> further hint that CBGB's show was in Dec. (not Oct.)

info file:

THE RAIN PARADE

Wednesday, 7 December 1983

Band line-up:
Steven Roback - vocals, bass
David Roback - vocals, guitar
Matt Piucci - vocals, guitar
Will Glenn - keyboards, violin
Eddie Kalwa - drums

Notes:

Courtesy of the Stonecutter Archives is Rain Parade's New York City debut show, which seems to pre-date the CBGB performance on the vinyl boot "Welcome To Paisleyland" by three days.

Sounds like it might play slow, but I wasn't sure so I wasn't about to mess with it.

"No Good Trying" is the Syd Barrett tune they were covering during this time.

"Saturday's Asylum" and "Kaleidoscope" are unfortunately cut.

Enjoy,

Thanks Gordon for ID-ing some bad DL links that need replacing, and adding DL info for a "new" Rain Parade show. I'll try to do more updates to the list soon.

Gordon, I belatedly figured out the two shows you cite as having bad links had/have working links listed in the main list but not at the longer show descriptions you looked at.
The most up-to-date / correct download links are found in the main list, i.e. the long list with short descriptions of shows. In many cases, links went bad and needed replacing, but I'd correct the links in the main list only, not in the longer, individual write ups of shows with set lists and info, write ups found on subsequent pages in this thread. So, if you try a link found in one of the longer write ups, and it's dead, go to the main list to find the same show listed with a correct DL link.

-Hope Sandoval and The Warm Inventions - 2017, Oct. 13, Berkeley, UC Theatre (MP3 @256kbps, same
audio quality as the source file): https://mega.nz/#!WIsFhQha!p-

-Rain Parade - 1983, Dec. 10, CBGB, NYC, FLAC
https://mega.nz/#!7McAzQia!2DsVMc7qCkTR ... 6u1yUHXWzQ

There was a Clay Allison show done during the course of a Rain Parade tour, according to a Rain Parade member. Just going by memory here, but it was likely Matt Piucci. I think he said he was David's & Kendra's soundman for that Clay Allison show with the two as a duo. I think it was a podcast interview from this FB account: https://www.facebook.com/paisleystageraspberryandrhyme/

Added Oct, 9, 2022:

Mazzy Star 1994, March 9, Dallas, TX, Trees venue
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uZgXct ... sp=sharing

1) Bells Ring
2) She Hangs Brightly
3) Ghost Highway
4) Halah
5) Give You My Lovin'
6) Mary of Silence
7) Ride it On
8) Flowers in December
9) Hair and Skin (Green on Red cover)

These audio files are in lossless FLAC format, but the person who shared them with
me warns he believes they derive from a lossy source and were converted to a lossless format somewhere
along the way, which would make them "fake lossless".

He made some EQ and other adjustments to improve the sound. He prefers anonymity, but I can refer to him as "Up-worker".

It's a listenable recording, but requires tolerance for a noisy crowd, many of whom are busy socializing vocally,
not listening.

Mazzy Star - 1994-04-05 - Moore Theatre, Seattle, WA

According to https://shaynestacy.files.wordpress.com ... 13118.xlsx this show was taped.

There's also an unusual 'I Was There' video document: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeLeI4v_0ao

[Thanks Gordon for your info re. the 1994 Seattle show.]
Recording added today:
-Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions, 2002, August 18, Minneapolis, MN
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kYdzWc ... share_link
A pretty good quality recording previously shared via dimeadozen.org by Dime member vacantrush

1. (intro)
2. Lose Me On the Way
3. On the Low
4. Clear Day
5. Charlotte
6. Butterfly Mornings
7. Friends of a Smile
8. Bavarian Fruit Bread
9. Drop
10. Silver and Gold (unreleased song)
11. Around My Smile
12. Suzanne
13. Louise [Acetone cover]
14. Play With Fire [The Rolling Stones cover]

A pretty good quality recording with a non-disruptive (quiet) audience.
The show was edited by someone (not by vacantrush) by removing all the between-song sections, so the songs al follow each other, one after the other with just a second of silence between songs.
