Many thanks GuntahKela for the link to your Mazzy pics from your meeting the band after their L.A. show. Nice pics of Hope & David, plus autographs from Keith, David, Hope, & a not-quite-one from Sylvia Gomez inside your copy of Sylvia's book ''My Life''. I didn't even know she'd written a book. I knew she'd written the song ''Give You my Lovin' '' which started out as a Going Home song & became a popular Mazzy Star one. That proved Hope wasn't the only talent in Going Home. The book must have some good anecdotes about Going Home, Mazzy Star, & Hope, who I believe she's still best friends with.

I notice one can't simply right click on instragram pics to copy, so I used screen capture software. Then I discovered instagrabbr.com lets one copy instagram pics, & does a slightly better job than the screen capture I tried first. Hope's drawing's more elaborate than I expected. I thought it might just be a cat face drawn at the end of her autograph or something. Instead, she's drawn a whole cat cartoon! I like it.

Okay, so it appears to be a cat with a slight problem. It has a long piece of string caught on the end of one leg it's dragging around, & Hope's drawn in a dialogue balloon & has written in something the cat's saying.
The only words I can get clearly are ''my leg!'', but It looks like there's more. To the left it looks like it might be the word ''save'' with tall ''A''. So, maybe it's ''Save my leg!''. Plus maybe there's something else above I can"t make out. Can you make out what it says?

With your permission, I'd like to include Hope's cartoon in one or more of my Mazzy or Hope youtube uploads/slideshows some time. In the yt video description I'd describe what it is, & where it came from, & would credit you as source, & would let you know when I do it.

The book is my travel book. It isn't Silvia's. It seemed she doesn't consider herself a celebrity and is too modest to embrace any fame by signing an autograph.
Dave: Silvia, sign
Silvia: What? nooOoo..
Dave: This is Silvia. She wrote "Give you my lovin."
Me: WTF?? Really?! No way.
Silvia: I wouldn't know what to sign...NooOo.
Dave: Come on. Sign something.
Silvia: What do I sign? My life?
Dave: Ok, sign your life
Silvia: Ok *signs" My life. there.

Then, Dave had Keith Mitchell sign. He was a little confused, at first, about what to do. Then, he signed.

The string coming from the cat drawing seems to be its tail. This is so weird. I thought, at first, I could read hope's handwriting, but now I can't. Go ahead and used the screen-grabs. I enjoy your videos.

GuntahKela/Juan: I guess I misunderstood about the book, & that it wasn't Sylvia's book, afterall. But hey, "My Life" would make a good autobiography title for someone. It seems an odd phrase to sign though, in lieu of an autograph. Keith likely isn't as used to being asked for & giving autographs as David, & especially Hope, would be.

I think you're right that what I thought was a long string is in fact the cat's extra-long tail. The tail looks like it's gotten wrapped around one leg, impeding the cat. Hope's writing's hard to read, as you say. But if my best guess is right she has the cat saying "Save my leg!" that would fit the scenario I think I see in the picture.

(Later update: I have doubts now about what I thought Hope wrote. Now I think what I saw as "save" is maybe "He" instead. And what I saw as "My leg" might be the name "Myles". Instead of "save", it looks like an "H" there similar to the "H" in her autograph above, plus "e". Also, it looks like the word "I" (plus something else) at the top part of the balloon. So maybe it says something like "I (something), He Myles". Who knows? Hope didn't just draw a cartoon, she made it a puzzle!)

I see you subscribed to my youtube channel & that you must have already found the new slideshows I put up containing Hope's autograph & cartoon she drew for you. Thanks for saying it's fine for me to put it in slideshows. I like it as it's so much more interesting than just an autograph alone would be. Since I hadn't heard anything negative back from you re. putting the cartoon on youtube I just went ahead with it before receiving a specific "okay". I wanted to get some individual songs up from Chicago & Seattle shows & really wanted to include it. But if you'd expressed displeasure about it after the fact, I'd have taken them down again & made new slideshows. Thank you.

So glad to hear she was cool with the fans who stayed to meet the band, that's awesome!
