My apologies if this is better placed in the Hope discussion, but it seems all conversations have pretty much moved over here?
Can any one else see a bit of a Norah Jones quality in the folky, unardorned vocal turn on "Not At All?" I don't mean to say there is an influence by any means, just kind of a parallel. I find it refreshing, a real live human vocal take atop that cascading fingerpicked guitar and vibes - no affect, no effects for the most part.
I was also thinking that since watergrasshill regretfully never saw light of day, could it be that the project morphed into the new Hope album? It seems to me that Hope (and Mazzy too generally) likes to let the songwriting process gestate over a long term and take whatever turns along the way, not unlike Leonard Cohen.
